Trading Online Voucher Scheme

The Trading Online Voucher Scheme is part of the Government’s National Digital Strategy. It is designed to help small businesses expand in the online sphere, boost online sales, and enter new markets. It offers funding for website development. You can also use the funds to develop a business app, IT consultation, purchase IT-related software, purchase online advertisements, etc.

The scheme also includes training that is carried out at the local SEO. Specifications:

The maximum payable amount is €150,000 or 50% of the investment (whichever is less)
Grants with greater or equal to €50,000 or a cumulative value of €100,000 over three years require approval from Enterprise Ireland.

The BTWEA scheme aims to encourage people who receive social welfare payment to become self-employed. The best part is that you can continue to keep a percentage of your social welfare payment for up to 2 years if you are accepted into the BTWEA scheme.

Specifications:

€1000 grant (you must contribute 25% of the cost)
After approval, you can keep 100% of the social welfare payment for the 1st year and 75% of the social welfare payment for the second year.

Eligibility:

If you want to apply for BTWEA and avail funding for website development, you must be starting a new business approved by a Case Officer and a local development company and fulfill one of the following eligibility criteria.

Receiving Jobseeker’s Allowance OR Jobseeker’s Benefits OR any of the following payments for at least nine months: Jobseeker’s Transitional Payment, One-Parent Family Payment, Blind Pension, Carer’s Allowance, Disability Allowance, Invalidity Pension, Farm Assist, Incapacity Supplement, Widow’s, Widower’s or Surviving Civil Partner’s (Non-contributory) Pension
Qualify for Illness Benefit (3 out of last 5 years)
A combination of One-Parent Family Payment, Jobseeker’s Transitional Payment, Jobseeker’s Allowance for nine months.
